Not really a new idea, green roofs can be cheap, less worry than a normal roof, and aesthetically pleasing. As an owner of two Pacific Northwest houses that sit yearlong in our brutal rains and winds, I find green roofs an attractive alternative. Shingles are fragile things and the moss problems are a pain in the ass. And really, if moss can grow up there, why not just let it grow… along with a bunch of other junk!
