I recall those being out for like a year or two before they were forced to change them to bright orange and green tiger stripe camo and the like, because a cop, if I recall correctly, shot someone with one.

I think I may have actually gotten the AK Centrefire too. I remember wanting it really really bad, and that it took a lot of allowances to afford it. Seems like the water didn’t even shoot straight, but crikey it had the look, the feel, the sound… so real. Except it sort of sounded like an aquarium pump going dry rather than the kablamo of hot lead. It’s also curious that I was so easily attracted to this based on its authenticity to real war. War used to be so awesome.

I had the AK Centrefire!!!!

I’m not sure who bought it, maybe my parents, though they weren’t the kind to just buy me anything I wanted. It sucked as a squirt gun, but was awesome when playing War.

I’d totally forgotten about it. Nice memories.

Now if a kid was playing with those they’d be shot by the police before they could hit the ground.
